Waterfowl Calls

Call ‘em in and haul ‘em out!

Text Box: HUNTING TIPS:

-Good waterfowlers pay attention to detail. Watch the birds that come in to the marsh or field carefully. Don't be afraid to change your spread or location to adapt to what the birds are doing.

-Set up your decoy spread so that you can shoot at birds from the side rather than head on. They won't be looking at you when they are coming in and you won't be shooting at the thickest part of the bird. Pellets have to travel through a lot of feathers and muscle if you hit the bird in the breast. Shots from the side provide you with a better shot at the vitals and don't ruin meat

-Use good looking
decoys. Birds have great eyes. Repaint your decoys that have faded or spend a little extra money to get the dekes you want. After you acquire good looking decoys, keep them clean. With the limited number of days we all get to spend in the field, why sit and wonder if the birds didn't come in because your spread is full of dirty decoys.

-Practice, practice, practice. Learn to shoot your gun and know your limitations. Just because your gun can shoot 40-50 yards doesn’t mean that you can. Don’t cripple birds unnecessarily. There aren’t enough to begin with.

-Buy a good call and learn to use it! That's why you're on this site. Good calling will help you out in countless ways. Practice makes perfect, so order a call and get to work.

Plain and simple, our duck and goose calls sound great!

You may want to try some of the high dollar calls which are mass produced and marketed in magazines, stores, and videos.

Or...if you want to pay for a good call, and not the marketing, check out what we have to offer. You can be totally confident that our calls will do their job so that you can do more shooting.

Black Feet Down is a fantastic short-reed goose call. It is easy to blow and will make any sound in the Canada Goose vocabulary. This call is loud and fairly mellow.  It sounds great in the field or on the water. Because of the reed in this call, anyone who uses it will be able to master the short-reed. A lot of individuals who have tried to convert from a flute style call to the short-reed have had problems. This call will help alleviate some of that difficulty. Unlike many short reeds, it will make some sounds when blown in a manner similar to that of a flute call. With a little practice, you will become very proficient at making all of the sounds honkers do and get some black feet down over your dekes.

Black Feet Down - $40.00 wood/acrylic $60.00

After a lot of hours of preparation, we finally got this cd together. Aimed at helping out the new owners of short reed calls, this cd is approximately 20 minutes long. After listening to this cd you will have learned the proper way to hold the call, how to make different sounds, when to use those sounds, and hear a few hunting tips. Learning to use a short reed can be challenging, but a little instruction goes a long way.

Short Reed Instructional cd -  $5.00

Arctic Blaster - $40.00

We named this call the Arctic Blaster for one reason. It is loud! Hunters in Texas may be able to call at geese in the Dakotas. Not really, but you get the point. This call produces extremely loud, sharp snow goose sounds. It will also allow you to make the feeding murmurs and grunts that will bring the snows and blues that last 25 yards into your spread. Obviously no hand call can compare to the effectiveness of electronic calls. The problem is you can't take the e-caller to the field in the fall. If you hunt Canadas in snow goose country, why not grab one of these calls, throw out some dekes, and increase your chances of doing some shooting? Also, if you haven't tried it yet, use a mouth call in conjunction with an e-caller. Your success will definitely increase. This call will bring them in, and that's a promise.

The name says it all. This is a sweet sounding flute call that is extremely easy to use. It is quite loud and makes beautiful natural goose sounds as well. Thousands of geese are taken by hunters using flute style calls every Fall. If you don't have the time to commit to learning how to use a short-reed, or a place your wife will let you practice, go with the flute call. With minimal practice, you'll be able to bring a lot of geese within gun range.

Flock Pounder - $40.00

This is a loud, semi-raspy, sweet sounding single-reed duck call. It will provide you with the volume that you need on windy days and softer sounds needed to allow you to finish ducks. This call is easy to blow. If you're tired of looking at ugly, poor sounding, acrylic calls pick up one of these. The hardwood construction offers great durability and beauty while producing that perfect natural sound.

Marsh Master - $40.00

A lot of hunters pursue wood ducks because they taste good and are fun to shoot.  They don’t respond to calls from many other duck species but this whistle will help you bring them in for some fast and furious shooting.  It really seems to work well while field  hunting over a goose spread.  If you see wood ducks whizzing by at first light while you’re waiting for geese, try one of these calls.  If they hear you, there is a good chance they’ll swing by to check you out.

Wood Duck Whistle - $15.00

Decorative Call Bag - $5.00

If you want to give a call as a gift, these bags are really great for presenting, storing, and protecting the call.  The velour bag with a draw string closure looks great with a hand crafted call making your gift extra special.
